We added our newest lash conditioner to the RevitaLash® Cosmetics Ophthalmologist-developed lash and brow conditioner assortment in 2022. The main difference can be found in the highlighted ingredients. We sourced ingredients known to provide lash beautifying benefits that are designed to be gentle and mild. These ingredients were specifically sourced with our irritation-prone, sensitive users in mind. Our newest innovation, Revitasome® Technology, features a plant-based liposomal encapsulated delivery system to aid in stable, slow-release ingredient absorption into the eyelashes. The formula contains peptides and amino acids to strengthen and nourish the lashes, and it also contains ingredients like rice protein and aloe vera, both known to be mild and gentle for the delicate eye area. Like RevitaLash® Advanced, RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive is made without known irritants including parabens, phthalates, gluten, or oil.
RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive was made especially for those who have experienced sensitivity to any lash conditioner or lash serum, including RevitaLash® Advanced, and for those with sensitive eyes.
Because this is a completely new and unique formula designed to address a specific need, the price point is reflective of the new technology.
As with any cosmetic product applied near eyes (e.g. mascara and eyeliner), ocular safety is a high priority. This is especially the case with RevitaLash® Cosmetics as the company was founded by an ophthalmologist, who designed RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive to stay where it is applied and not come in contact with eyes and pioneered novel tests to demonstrate the ocular safety of RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive. RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive was purposefully formulated with a thickener to ensure that it remains on the eyelashes where it is applied and does not drip into the fluid surrounding the eye. Our unique applicator wand was developed to apply a very small amount of product to the base of the eyelashes. It is also important to note that a study consucted on a similar product (RevitaLash® Advanced) by an independent ophthalmologist affiliated with UCLA’s School of Medicine used fluorescent dye to photograph RevitaLash® Advanced after it was applied normally and confirmed that the product does not get into the eye fluid. This is important for two reasons. First, it means use of RevitaLash® Advanced is safe to eyes (since it does not come in contact with eyes). Second, it means RevitaLash® Advanced cannot get into the blood stream, because the primary entry is through absorption by the surface of the eye. In addition, two independent experts based in the UK, one a highly reputable ophthalmologist and the other a pharmacokinetics expert, have reviewed the safety tests of RevitaLash® Advanced and concluded that no appreciable amount of RevitaLash® Advanced is absorbed by the body.And as if that weren't enough, in another study conducted by an independent laboratory, adult volunteers applied RevitaLash® Advanced daily as directed in the package instructions for 4 weeks. A certified ophthalmologist examined the volunteers’ eyes at the beginning and end of the study. The ophthalmologist reported there was no irritation to the eyes or change in the intraocular pressure (IOP) over the 4-week study. Collectively, these tests demonstrate that RevitaLash® Advanced generally stays out of eyes and does not have a physiological effect on eyes.
Led by a physician, RevitaLash® Cosmetics has formulated its products with safety as a top priority and has documented safety through comprehensive, objective testing. Like all of the products in the RevitaLash® Cosmetics line, RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive has been clinically tested and has an excellent safety profile. The safety of RevitaLash® Advanced Sensitive to skin and eyes has been demonstrated in industry standard cosmetics testing (RIPT, HET-CAM, microbiology, stability, ocular irritation potential). As happens with all cosmetic products, including mascara and eyeliner, a very small number of users have reported sensitivity to a similar product (RevitaLash® Advanced). Over a one-year period, 0.15%* of users reported the most common reaction as irritation, including temporary redness, swelling, itching and burning sensation in the eyes. Even more rare were reports of dry eyes, styes, darkening of the skin at the lashline, periorbital fat loss, and eyelash loss. Reported reactions typically went away after stopping use. It is not known whether RevitaLash® Advanced or some other factor caused the reported reactions. *User reported data over a one year period, April 2022 – March 2023.
